Pantheon Teas

Pantheon Teas is a packaging project inspired by trips to Chinese supermarkets in Queens, New York. I would wander into an aisle full of walls stuffed with medicinal tea boxes. It was fun to look at all the interesting remedies that each box boasted, from sensible cures such as cold and flu relief to fancier claims such as weight loss and hair regeneration.

While researching herbal medicine studies, I saw that these may actually hold some scientific truth. This is when I realized one huge reason I never took these products seriously is the packaging. Many looked outdated, disorganized, and used images with resolutions that were too small. These boxes with unplanned designs made the product look less believable. I gave myself a challenge to rebrand these products to feel more realistic and be noticed by more consumers.

I marketed the tea in bottles instead of boxes so that the product could appear more visible.

It turns out that this is a global tradition followed in many parts of the world for centuries. I named each tea after an ancient deity from different cultures to express a feeling of empowerment.

Each bottle contains a description explaining that each tea will grant the drinker "powers" and "strengths" that help get them through the day.

A large part of the process was creating a logo for the brand and including a custom typeface in it.
